YEAH, WE’VE NOW LEARNED THAT THERE IS NO BODY CAMERA FOOTAGE FROM THAT INTERACTION WITH SCHEFFLER WHEN HE WAS ARRESTED YESTERDAY, AND THE LMPD OFFICER, NOW THE MAYOR, MAYOR UH, GREENBERG JUST A SHORT TIME AGO HAS SAID HE’S NOT SURE IF THE CHARGES WILL BE DOWNGRADED. BUT HE DID SAY HE HAS FAITH IN THE SYSTEM. SO RIGHT NOW, THE CASE IS IN THE HANDS OF OUR COUNTY ATTORNEY, AND I WILL LET THE LEGAL PROCESS PLAY OUT. SO I HAVE NO COMMENT ON THAT. Mayor: No body cam footage of Scottie Scheffler's arrest, but there will be video
There will not be any body cam footage showing the moments of No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler being arrested outside Valhalla Friday morning, according to Mayor Craig Greenberg. Scheffler was arrested outside of Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville ahead of round 2 of the PGA Championship. He's facing several charges, including a felony, after an altercation with an officer as he tried to get into Valhalla.In his comments, Greenberg confirmed that there is no body camera video of the incident.At first, he said the officer didn't have the camera on but later clarified he wasn't sure if it just wasn't on or there was no camera at all on the officer."The officer did not have body cam footage turned on," said Greenberg. "We will release footage that we have. We have not yet discovered any video of the initial contact between Ofc. Gillis and Mr. Scheffler. There is some footage from across the street from a fixed camera when Mr. Scheffler was being arrested."
