I've particularly enjoyed the rigorous coursework and the opportunities to engage in research early in my college career. The professors here are not only leaders in their fields but are also genuinely interested in students' success, often available for guidance and support beyond the classroom. The campus itself is beautiful and well-maintained, providing a serene environment that enhances the learning experience. Socially, there are numerous clubs and organizations that cater to a wide range of interests, which made it easier for me as a transfer to integrate and find my community. However, I would like to see improvements in the advising system, especially for transfer students. Navigating a new university's academic and social landscape can be challenging, and a more structured support system could help ease this transition.... I was so excited to get to Athens my freshman year. I immediately fell in love with the campus and felt right at home there. From the very first day, the professors acknowledge that as new students, college will be demanding, but it is not impossible and is worth it. The professors truly care about their students and want to see them succeed, and they will do whatever they can to help. The student body is truly what makes OU so special. Every single individual is kind and will go out of their way to help someone. I have found the greatest group of friends whom I love dearly and will forever be grateful for. Something I would like to see change however, is the food options we have. At the dining halls, food is poured out of plastic bags and served to us, and the campus markets are lined with candy and sodas. This is not ideal for a student like me, who likes to cook and eat healthy food. Overall, Ohio University is the greatest place I know.... I lived basically like Alix Earle (college wise and not fame wise). There is something to do every single day. I was able to go out 6 nights a week and maintain my workload pretty easily. I absolutely loved all my classes and the professors. Most of my class sizes were small and very discussion based which I find best for learning. My professors were all super nice, available, knowledgeable, and understanding. Campus is beautiful! Greek life is take it or leave it, people involved really like it and I wasn't in a sorority but was still able to go to all the frat parties. I love the academics here and the party scene and I'm so sad I am graduating next week. Anyone can really find their place here and if you want to tan in January or a serious student you should come here and study by the pool. The urban campus, deeply embedded in NYC, offers unique connections to the city's core communities, enhancing academic and professional experiences. NYU's lively and diverse student communities, such as the LGBTQ+ Center and the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs, have been influential, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Academically, NYU excels in providing rich research opportunities, including the Dean's Undergraduate Research Fund (DURF) and the Undergraduate Research Conference. The OB and Peds class for nursing is way too much to be a 8 week course there is so much to learn in such a short time span. For older students they are not real flexible with different class schedules for some of us in the program are single parents with children and still have to work. Online classes would really be beneficial to us for options in the general education courses instead of having to make hard choices between providing for our families, and making decisions whether we can stay in school also which is really unfair to us trying to provide a better future for our families.... What I did not realize were the many factors that came along with starting this new path of life -- living away from home, party culture, the football game frenzy, endless schoolwork, and the underlying pressure of having to make connections and network with others. Although these aspects seemed as though they were going to slowly but surely destroy me, I found great solace in studying (and the occasional bi-weekly matcha latte from Sweetwaters:)). The vast amount of resources in any field from ballet to biochemistry was something truly unique and a gift for someone interested in a multidisciplinary career like me. Further the research opportunities available to even first year students were abundant in every field. The lack of diversity or meaningful connection to a typical metropolitan population was shocking at first. On a purely anthropological level, the mix and contrast of highly educated, milquetoast upper crust Americans with first generation scholarship students who know the struggle was enlightening. Greek life was overwhelming as someone who wasn't a part of it, yet they had far too much say about university matters for organizations that were ultimately self-serving. For some, the insular grounds can be comforting and grounding while for others, it will be suffocating and claustrophobic. As someone who enjoyed the Blue Ridge Mountains and local specialties, every season brought a treat. That's enough. I've had both irreplaceable and regrettable memories that come with being a college student far from home. If UVA could change for the better, I'd be more optimistic about the nation.... 27. #25 Best Colleges for Nursing in AmericaUniversity of South FloridaTampa, FL·4 Year·Rating 3.82 out of 5 7,554 reviewsSophom*ore: The University of South Florida makes a constant effort of ensuring students satisfaction and inclusion during university. They are very helpful when it comes to students academics and their success in their given major. Advisors are helpful and go above and beyond for students questions, concerns, and success at USF. The campus is beautiful and makes walks to and from class so delightful for students. The food options on campus are diverse and ensure each student will have a place they like to eat. Professors have been helpful and work hard to teach students to understand and pass. They offer tutoring and many grants for students to thrive and finically and academically get through university. Overall I love the university and would recommend anyone coming here to get a degree with knowledge to support it....
